WINE ENTHUSIASTS...
Sonoma Fine Wine specializes in procuring the highest-quality, most sought-after wines, many virtually impossible to find. We source from all over—France, Italy, and Spain—with special emphasis on Sonoma and Napa Counties (our backyard).
We are in the heart of Sonoma County’s outstanding Sonoma Coast and Russian River appellations, which allows us to develop special relationships with premium wineries and tiny micro-producers. Our location provides you access to many hard-to-find, allocated vintages, unavailable outside of wine country. We excel in ‘trophy’ and ‘cult’ wines!
What makes us unique?
Procuring your access to many hard-to-find, allocated ‘cult’ and collectible wines.
Sonoma Fine Wine's consultants have been enjoying fine wine for over fifty years, guaranteeing you dependable assistance in selecting the finest wine, for your pleasure, not our egos. We carefully listen to you to ensure that we understand your taste, and which wines and vintages you enjoy. We then procure for you the very best wine in your stated price range—the ideal wine for your discerning palate! Whether you appreciate everyday wines, or wines ranging from $50 and upward, we will find you the perfect bottle, case, or special format size!
Our guiding principle is to offer the highest quality, and most unique, often nearly impossible-to-procure wines, sourced from the world’s greatest wine regions. We taste hundreds of cuvées each year, choosing to carry only a tiny percentage. Our exacting selection process gives you complete confidence in our recommendations and your selection.
We place special emphasis on wines closest to our Sonoma Coast location. Being at the epicenter of Sonoma wine country’s most sought-after appellations—Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, Green Valley, Petaluma Gap—as well as our proximity (less than an hour) to Napa’s greatest wine regions, makes us ideally suited to source the finest California wines.

For almost two decades, we have been attending exclusive VIP events like Taste of Oakville, where we taste the highest-end wines and get to know winemakers, owners, and growers from Sonoma and Napa’s most illustrious wineries. We have always had a soft spot for Maybach, Futo, and Bevan, but also enjoy the tried and true like Harlan, Dalla Valle, Peter Michael, and Rudd. We even enjoy a ‘micro-taste’ of the much-lauded Screaming Eagle, from time to time! Many of Sonoma Fine Wine’s best ‘discoveries’ have come from attending this kind of event!
Sonoma Fine Wine’s state-of-the-art database was designed specifically for our wine business, and allows us to fully track your preferences and order history. We record every conversation, every bottle you buy, and all your feedback. This meticulous attention to detail ensures that we can procure great wines for you that you will enjoy for a lifetime. This proximity to California’s premier wine regions...
...has empowered Benjamynn Gabriel, whose lifetime passion for wine goes back to adolescence in Paris, France, to source the most prized ‘cult’ and collectible wines available, anywhere! Becoming very friendly with great vintners from Paul Hobbs, DuMOL, Kamen, Scarecrow, Kistler, Bevan, Lynmar, and Maybach, among others, allows Sonoma Fine Wine to access and sell wines no other retailer has!
A tasting voyage through Bordeaux not too long ago, led to private VIP tours and tasting at some of Bordeaux most illustrious establishments.
...Of course, most people interested in wine are familiar with the five 1st Growth châteaux: Lafite-Rothschild, Margaux, Haut-Brion, Mouton Rothschild, and Latour. But how many can say they dragged their five-year old son through the thick slabbed, limestone cellar and production area of Château Latour in Pauillac? Visits to other wineries: Mouton Rothschild, Pontet Canet, Clos Fourtet, were equally enjoyable and illuminating, but not quite as poignantly memorable! And what a great pleasure to find a Gustave Eiffel building at the wonderful winery of Pape Clément in the Pessac-Léognan appellation!
In addition to a lifetime appreciation of France and everything French...
...Benjamynn has also spent countless joyful weeks in Italy, wandering from hill town to small village, to fine dining establishments, all the while appreciating the local viticulture! The wines of Tuscany (Brunello di Montalcino), Bolgheri (Super Tuscan combinations of sangiovese, with Bordeaux varietals like cabernet, merlot, petit verdot), Piedmont (barolo, nebbiolo, barbera), and Venice, are revelations. They are complex, structured, and age-able—so worth the time to let them mature for years in bottle, and then slowly unfurl in the glass!

Occidental
Nestled among the redwoods, rolling green pastures filled with sheep, goats, cows, deer, and llamas, is the beautiful former logging village of Occidental, California. Sonoma Fine Wine proudly makes its home in downtown Occidental, in an historic landmark built originally in 1897.
The tiny hamlet of Occidental (barely three blocks long!), is the dividing point between the Russian River Valley and Sonoma Coast appellations. Sonoma Fine Wine is located in both Sonoma Coast and RRV! Our proximity to great vineyards and wineries like Occidental Vineyards, Maybach, Rivers-Marie, DuMOL, Kistler, Kosta Browne, Walter Hansel, Hartford Court, Martinelli, and Paul Hobbs, to name just a few, enables us to develop personal and professional relationships that allow us source the very best, rarest cuvées. Micro-producers that virtually never sell in retail stores, will often sell to us, because we’re their neighbor! That’s how Sonoma Fine Wine gains you access to so many hard-to-find, allocated vintages, unavailable anywhere else! We excel in ‘trophy’ and ‘cult’ wines, and truly do procure the best wines for the most discerning wine lovers!

Procuring the highest-quality, most sought-after wines from the United States, France, and Italy, with special emphasis on Sonoma and Napa Counties…
Benjamynn has been enjoying wine for a very long time—one of his family’s legends maintains that he was choosing wine for the grown-ups when they lived in Paris. He was only twelve years old! But as many know, Europeans start children off even younger than that, watering down the wine and getting them used to its aroma and palate, its tannins and textural nuances. Good training for the budding wine business professional!
From tasting the great 1959 and 1970 vintages from Bordeaux, the 1980s through 21st-century California Cabernets, as well as today’s great Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, Benjamynn has the historical knowledge, as well as the nose and palate, to assist you. But even more important, he has an ear to listen to what you want, always willing to set aside any pre-conceived notions to advise for your enjoyment, not his (although often the two will coincide!). Thank you for placing your confidence in Sonoma Fine Wine. You will not be disappointed!
